Edmonton offers the largest expanse of urban river valley trails in North America. Over 150 kilometers of multipurpose trails weave through the scenic river valley, providing hikers, cyclists, inline skaters, and anyone out for a stroll the chance to sit in one of the many parks and green spaces for a relaxing day in the sun. During the winter months, the trails become a haven for cross country skiers and snowshoers.
For the golfer, Greater Edmonton has over 70 courses designed to challenge all skill levels. Victoria Golf Course is the oldest municipal course in Canada, and newer, championship courses have carved out a niche in the recent years. Dozens more courses are within an hour of the city, with very reasonable green fees and excellent services.
